day 5 - Denali National Park, grizzlies, McKinley

July 9th, 2005










We spent this day in the Denali National Park. We went to Wonder Lake and back with a tour bus in 11 hours




You can only go into the park a tour bus.




Check point with a ranger, only tour buses beyond this point




Ranger told us about the basic rules




First animals: caribou-s




Ptarmigan




Grizzlies!!




There were frequent stops to provide rest rooms and photo opporuntities for the passangers




If there was an animal along the road the bus stopped but no one could get off

The weather was not very nice, it was quite cloudy




We could see the top of Mt. McKinley for couple minutes within the clouds




Wonder Lake, our last stop. We truned back here.

We spent the night in Healy at the camping.
